Aloha Scrappers!! I hope you are all doing well today! I am hoping that this afternoon to get in my craft room for some much deserved craft time.

Thanks for joining us at The Crafty Maven Getaway today!! Today the ladies decided to use a sketch by Angie Gutshall, here is the blog she had the sketch posted. Here is what the sketch looks like too.

I love Tanya Hubbard’s layout!! The way she used paper layers and stitching as her circle element turned out fantastic!! I love that she injected so much color into her layout!! That quote is so amazing!! Her is a look at her Layout!

Dani Brown’s layout also turned out just as amazing!! I love how she really did an awesome job reflecting on the week’s inspiration pice and the sketch. It can often be difficult to mesh together! Twerk It Thursday: Mari Clarke and Scraps by Jen

Good Morning my scrappy friends!! It’s a beautiful sunny day today in paradise which is nice compared to downpours and flooding from yesterday. It was so bad yesterday I even started thinking of a escape plan for my scrappy supplies. In case of an emergency how fast can I move all my scrappy goodness upstairs in the school room, was on my mind. Thanks goodness it didn’t come to that, but in all honesty we should be prepared for a natural disaster. Do you have all your photos backed up, on an external hard drive, cloud (or other internet based storage) or just on your trusty computer? I have lost many dear photos and video clips (before my scrapping days) due to not properly storage my precious family photos. If you haven’t done this I would advise you think about how you want to store them and do it, twice!!

On to fun and inspiring things though!! All this talk needs me feeling like I need an inspiration pick me up! Today Both Mari and Scraps by Jen have taken a sketch and used it to inspire them at their scrap desk!!

They both did an amazing job!! This week’s inspirations pieces are very colorful and these two ladies really embraced that on their layouts today.

The colors painted on the cardstock are gorgeous!! I love the way it peeks through the cut files under the photos. The black and white photos really help bring out the colors Mari used. Jen used a cut file in a completely different way then Mari, but just as effective! She used different color papers behind the cut words! Inspired by a quote posted in watercolor from Amy Tan on her pinterest account, I had used this quote on an inspiration Tic Tac Toe board for the Victoria Marie Facebook Group. This quote is the perfect title for Jen’s layout!! I love how the color from behind the title brings out the colors in Jen’s photos, the flowers and stream with trees. Twerk It Thursday: Victoria Marie and Sarah Swann

Aloha Scrappers!! It’s Twerk It Thursday!! Are you in the mood to use a sketch today?!! I am sure I have mentioned this already but I love sketches!! When I started scrapbooking they were a really big help and start to learning what looks good on a page. Now I love them even more because I know I don’t have to stick with every little detail if I don’t want to. They really help when I am feeling crunched for time in my scrap area, but want to get a layout done that looks nice still. They also help when I feel I need help finding more inspiration too.

Today Both ladies on The Crafty Maven Getaway have used a sketch as a starting off point. I love both of these ladies and their style and can’t wait for you to see their style shining through even though they used a sketch. They used a Shimelle sketch from 2013, you you find this sketch and many more on Shimelle’s blog too.

Sarah decided to make a double layout with this sketch. She put a pocket on one side of the double spread to use for ephemera. I love how her layout turned out, it’s gorgeous!! Hello our crafty friends!! How are you on this Thursday? I hope well!! Sorry I’m getting this post up a bit late, but at least it’s still thursday, right?! I have two great videos to share with you today and they’re both so amazing!! I’ll just jump right into it.

First off I have Kelly, aka Froggie251, and she made a very pretty and wintery layout that I just LOVE! You can watch the video here.

I don’t know about you, but I am a HUGE Frozen fan!! I absolutely LOVE the mixed media she did on the background and that she did a scripty title with white water color!! It looks so perfect on the layout!

Then, we have Tanya and her layout is just so ADORBS! 🙂

Twerk It Thursday: TinaGale and Katty

Aloha Scrappers!! We are stepping it up a notch this month and giving you three days a week where we post 2 videos. I hope you are enjoying all the different styles and inspiration we are trying to provide for you, I know I have been floored away by the talent and inspiration this past month and look forward all the new and cool things I will see this month.

Today TineGale and Katty Mirranda take on a sketch. I love how the difference in their styles makes it really hard to even see that they used the same sketch. They were both true to their own style and both made lovely layouts!!

TinaGale used a really cool triangle cut file on her layout. I love how the cut out pieces show the patterns of the striped paper but also the plain white cardstock as well. the use of different patterns with the strips of paper add a fun busyness with restraint as well. I love the splatters of spray mist to finish the layout. This layout turned out great. to see her video on the channel click here. Here are some photos of her layout as well. Our second poster for today is Katty Mirranda, She is a little newer to the YT scene but super talented. I love how she isn’t afraid to experiment and try new things. Katty took on this sketch like a pro, using bright colors and a little mixed media. I love how she used a stencil to incorporate the triangle element into her layout. The banners are a fun twist on the layout too. I love how she added vellum banners with the patterned papers for more interest. She has so many textures but they all work together to bring this layout together and bring focus to her photo. You can check out her process video on The Crafty Maven Getaway channel, here. Welcome to The Crafty Maven Getaway!!! The first month is coming to a close already and I hope you all have been as inspired to grab your favorite craft supplies and take a vacation in your craft area!! Today For Twerk It Thursday we have two videos to share with you!!

Rachel Reynolds and Christy’s Beautiful Life are using and sharing a fun sketch!! They picked and used a sketch from Sketchsavvy.blogspot.com by Susan Stringfellow. I love the sketches Susan designs they are so fun to use. Both ladies did an amazing job interpreting that sketch!!

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I hope you are enjoying your week, getting things accomplished, and hopefully have had a few minutes to sit down and play with your crafty stuff!!

Today we have double the fun because both Banning Lane and DeAnna Scraps From Youtube have a new video posted for you crafters!! Both have wonderful layouts to share with you!!

Banning Lane has already done a video for The Crafty Maven Getaway this month and I promise she will not disappoint this time either. Her interpretation of the inspiration is phenomenal.

Twerk It Thursday is all about tweaking a sketch and making it your own. I find every scrapbooker does this different. I love to see how different people interpret a sketch on to paper.
