Design Team Inspiration: Dried Flowers & Simple Mixed Media

Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another beautiful project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is a gorgeous layout by our design team member, Kristin, featuring the May 2025 kit, and it’s the perfect mix of simple mixed media and natural elements. Watch the video HERE.

This beautiful page was created using green acrylic paint along with the real dried flowers included in the kit. The combination creates such a fresh, organic feel that really brings the whole layout to life.

She started by adding a soft layer of green acrylic paint to the background, keeping it light and subtle. This creates just enough color and movement without overpowering the design.

Then she layered in the dried flowers, allowing their natural texture and shape to become the focal point. The contrast between the painted background and the delicate florals adds so much depth while still keeping the overall look clean and simple.

✨ Why This Project Inspires

• Green acrylic paint: Adds a fresh, natural base
• Real dried flowers: Bring beautiful texture and dimension
• Simple mixed media: Easy to recreate
• Clean design: Lets the elements shine

I love how this layout feels both earthy and elegant at the same time. The dried flowers really stand out against the soft green background, creating a look that feels effortless but still so intentional.

🎨 Try This Technique

If you want to recreate this look, start with a light layer of acrylic paint and keep it soft and loose. Once dry, add dried flowers or other natural elements and let them guide your design.

This is such an easy way to add texture and interest while keeping your layout simple and beautiful.
