Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another gorgeous design team project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is all about dimension, texture, and beautiful detail—this layout is seriously stunning! Watch the process video here.

Our design team member, Jessica, created an incredible 3D layout using gorgeous crochet flowers from the Garden Party March kit. These soft, textured embellishments instantly add depth and a handmade feel that makes the whole page come alive.

The crochet flowers become the focal point of the design, layered in a way that creates height and visual interest across the page. Paired with subtle background elements, they really stand out while still feeling soft and cohesive.

✨ Why This Project Inspires

• Crochet flowers: Add soft texture and beautiful dimension
• 3D layering: Creates depth and visual interest

• Focal embellishments: Let the florals shine

Design Team Inspiration: 2×2 Paper Squares & March Kit Papers & Stickers

Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another super fun design team project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is a clean and simple layout that proves you don’t need mixed media to create something absolutely adorable and impactful! Watch the process video HERE.

This design team member used papers from the monthly kit by cutting them all down into 2×2 inch squares, creating a structured and playful grid-style background. The repetition of the squares gives the layout a fun, cohesive feel while still allowing all the different patterns from the kit to shine.

She then layered in stickers and embellishments from the kit to build interest and guide the eye across the page. The mix of elements adds just the right amount of detail without overwhelming the clean design.

The photo she used is the cutest touch—a picture of her exhausted dog sitting on her desk at work! It adds humor, personality, and storytelling that makes the layout instantly relatable and memorable.

✨ Why This Project Inspires

• 2×2 paper squares: Easy way to use multiple patterns
• Kit stickers & embellishments: Add detail without extra effort
• Clean design: Simple but visually effective
• Story-driven photo: Adds personality and humor

I love how this layout shows that sometimes simple structure and good photos are all you need. No mixed media required—just great kit supplies and a fun story.

🎨 Try This Technique

If you want to recreate this look, grab your kit papers and cut them into even squares. Arrange them in a grid for a clean background that still uses lots of pattern.

Then layer stickers and embellishments on top to add interest and help tell your story.

Design Team Inspiration: Heart Masked Ink Background

Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another incredibly creative design team project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is such a clever and eye-catching layout that uses a simple technique in the most beautiful way!

Cassie, our design team member, created this stunning page by using a cut-out heart as a mask on her background. She then inked over it using three different ink colors, building a soft blended effect around the heart shape while keeping the center clean.

Once she removed the mask, she was left with a beautiful heart-shaped focal area right in the center of the page.

She then placed her photos directly inside the heart, making them the main focus of the entire layout. From there, she built up the design with embellishments, layering details around the heart to frame the photos and bring everything together.

The result is a layout that feels both simple and incredibly impactful, with a strong focal point and beautiful color blending throughout the background.

✨ Why This Project Inspires

• Heart mask technique: Creates a bold focal shape
• Blended inks: Add soft color and depth
• Photo placement: Makes the heart the main storytelling element
• Embellishing around the focal point: Frames and enhances the design

I love how this layout turns such a simple idea into something so striking. The heart shape immediately draws your eye in, and the ink blending makes the background feel soft and artistic.

🎨 Try This Technique

If you want to recreate this look, cut a simple heart shape from paper and use it as a mask on your background.

Blend 2–3 ink colors around it, then remove the mask to reveal your focal area. Add your photo inside the shape and build embellishments around it to complete your design.
