SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: TINAGALE AND KATTY MIRANDA

Hello!

Today our two contributors decided to scraplift each other and both ended up with beautiful results – TinaGale is up first not scraplifting a layout of Katty’s but rather going with specific products and a series Katty has; really cool idea.

“I was inspired by co-contriibutor Katty Miranda. Looking through her layouts she obviously loves flowers and doilies so those were a must. I love to use up my stash and she has a great series Work it Wednesay where she creates a kit from her stash. I grabbed several products from my stash and created this layout of my daughter having fun creating snowflakes from some embossed die cuts I had made. I was teasing her because she wouldn’t glue them together so she was trying to hide under the table. LOL”

Katty Miranda went with the more traditional approach and lifted a beautiful layout of TinaGale’s:

“This week TinaGale Husong and I decided to Scraplift each other. I knew immediately which layout of hers I wanted to lift. I absolutely love Tina’s layout. Everything about it, the design, the colors, overall it is just fabulous. I also really loved this weeks inspiration board. I love the combination of the pinks and silvers. I think the color scheme went very well with this photo I had printed in black & white of my adorable niece.:) ”

Sketch It Out Thursday: Katty Miranda & MBarone

Hello crafty friends!! I hope you’re all having a great week so far! Hang in there, it’s almost over!! I don’t know about you, but the week of Halloween is always a bit crazy with all the trunk or treats my kids want to go to and the fact that my oldest sons birthday is 6 days before Halloween too. It means a LOT of sweet treats all in the matter of one week. YIKES! Haha

Anyway, today I have 2 awesome layouts to share with you. The sketch they used:

Here’s what Katty says’ about her layout, ” Sketch it out Thursday 10/29- I decided to use the Halloween Mood Board for my layout. I just love Halloween and I still have some old Halloween photos to scrap of when my boys were smaller. I miss picking out their costumes. I was very happy to use up older Halloween products that I have in my stash to create this simple layout.”

I love all the great Halloween layouts I’ve been seeing everyone making! For some reason I’m just not in the mood to scrap Halloween this year. Oh, well, maybe next year.

Spotlight Sunday: Katty Miranda

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Katty Miranda, is telling as all about herself. I first met her when she was applying for SNL last year, I can’t believe how much she has grown in the community this year. It is so much fun watching my youtube friends growing and getting lots of experience through the work they are doing. Katty is so sweet, I feel so lucky to have her be apart of our channel.

Aloha Scrappers! Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!! This weekend I am spending extra time with my family which hopefully means more times to capture those precise moments we share together.

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Channel both Katty and Dani are Scraplifting a layout from Missy Whidden. She is very talented and you can find her over designing for The Cut Shoppe, Hip Kits and more. Missy also does Youtube Process videos which you can find here. Here is a look at the layout the ladies are using today.

Twerk It Thursday: Katty Miranda and DeAnna Scraps

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! It is a nice sunny Hawaiian day today!! A nice breeze blowing makes the still hot and humid temps not feel so bad. As much of the country and world starts to think about fall and cooler weather, I look forward to seeing all those things in everyone’s photos!! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year!! One thing I love about the inspiration piece this week is how it has elements of the Autumn but with bright colors, like it’s summer still trying to hold on. Kind of how Autumn feels here in Hawaii!

Today On Twerk It Thursday Katty and DeAnna decided to use the same sketch! Here is what it looks like…

This sketch is really fun with lots of room to make it your own but enough direction to leave it be as well!! I love when sketches have both these aspects!!

Here is what Katty did with this sketch!!

I love all the color and fun elements she added on her page!! I love how she changed up the sketch a little with the circle being smaller!! This layout really reflects the tone of her picture too.

I love all the sketching DeAnna has on her layout!! It really adds some fun to match the fun colors!! I love how use used black patterns on her layout to to help ground all the color she used!! This layout is also so fun!!

The First Crafty Maven Getaway Online Crop

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I hope you had a chance to hop over to The Crafty Maven Youtube Channel and The Crafty Maven Getaway Destination FB Group!! The actual Crop is over now but it is still busy over at the group as everyone is sharing the layouts they have been working on this weekend!! The challenges end on September 26th at 11:59pm EST, so if you were thinking you wanted to join in on some of the challenges you still have time to check everything out!! Here are the rules for playing along.

Here is a quick description of the challenges in the order the were posted over in the FB Group. There are albums in the photo section of the group for each of these challenges. This is also where the entries for the challenges need to go in order to have chance to be entered to win, in the challenges that have prizes. Not all of them do, so if you aren’t sure ask in the comments section of the albums and we will let you know for sure the details.

Friday Evening ScrapsByJen Scraplift Challenge

Marianne Giveaway (10 am EST) Paint By Numbers

PAINT BY NUMBERS
This challenge is to create a layout or 2 cards that contain the following:
–1 (one) kind of paint.
(gesso, acrylic, watercolor, gelato, distress etc.)

–3 (three) total combination of stamps and ink..so for example: one ink and 2 different colors ink or 2 different colors of ink and one stamp.

My challenge is to create a layout using the following “recipe”:
3 different pattern papers
1 card stock
The colors teal and gray
3 arrows
Some Chipboard
A travel themed embellishment (you layout does not need to be travel themed)
And finally something in your stash that is older than a year old

Kelly’s Speed Challenge 6pm EST

Kelly usually take between 1-1.5 hours to complete a layout. Every now and then though she likes to challenge herself to get a layout done much quicker. So her challenge to you is to create a page from start to finish between 30-45 minutes. Gathering supplies, papers, and photos doesn’t count towards the time frame. Now…if you a really slow scrapbooker, try and cut your time by half. This isn’t supposed to be stressful!

Katty’s Sketch/Recipe Challenge (7pm EST)

For Katty’s 7 P.M Challenge she has a Sketch/Recipe challenge where she will be giving away a $25 gift card to the store of the winners choice(you must post your layout to my challenge album here on the Facebook group) So for one entry you can follow the sketch or for one entry you can follow the recipe:1. Use a stencil 2. Use wood veneer in at least two places 3.Use twine or for two entries you can do both(as I did in my layout. This is going to be fun!

Nicole is going to be challenging us to make our own Backgrounds,Use Stencils, ink, and stamping to create a background for a layout!!

Hannah’s Kit Challenge 9 pm EST

This challenge is for the Crafty Maven getaway Destination FB Group Online Crop. The Challenge will be open for submissions until Saturday September 26, 2015 12pm EST. The winner will be chosen from random and will win a 25 dollar gift card from the online store of your choice. To enter your layout must be in the album that is marked for this challenge, which is in the Crafty Maven Getaway Destination FB Group. Your name will be entered once for using the layout and once for making a kit from your scrappy supplies and adding that picture in the album. Can’t wait to see what you make.

Twerk It Thursday: Nicole Mackin and Katty Miranda

Aloha Scrappers!!! It’s Twerk It Thursday!! I promise that no actual twerking is involved on this day, unless you want too! I don’t know about you but I love to incorporate sketches in my albums. They are a great way to make my pages a little different then the normal styles I stick to when scrapping without one.

Today both Nicole and Katty are going to be using the same sketch. I love when the ladies use the same sketch. I love seeing how how different people with different styles see a sketch and turn it into them, or their style.

Here is a look at the sketch that the ladies are using today, from sketch-n-scrap designed by Lisa Hidy. This sketch is a really fun sketch! I love how it gives room for lots of layers!

Nicole Mackin, did a lovely job! I love that wood veneer for the title. I love how she used a big tag for a layer. The colors she used! Katty (who is on the design team over at the sketch-n-scrap website) did an amazing job with this sketch as well. I love how the bright colors pops on that dark cardstock. Twerk It Thursday: TinaGale and Katty

Aloha Scrappers!! We are stepping it up a notch this month and giving you three days a week where we post 2 videos. I hope you are enjoying all the different styles and inspiration we are trying to provide for you, I know I have been floored away by the talent and inspiration this past month and look forward all the new and cool things I will see this month.

Today TineGale and Katty Mirranda take on a sketch. I love how the difference in their styles makes it really hard to even see that they used the same sketch. They were both true to their own style and both made lovely layouts!!

TinaGale used a really cool triangle cut file on her layout. I love how the cut out pieces show the patterns of the striped paper but also the plain white cardstock as well. the use of different patterns with the strips of paper add a fun busyness with restraint as well. I love the splatters of spray mist to finish the layout. This layout turned out great. to see her video on the channel click here. Here are some photos of her layout as well. Our second poster for today is Katty Mirranda, She is a little newer to the YT scene but super talented. I love how she isn’t afraid to experiment and try new things. Katty took on this sketch like a pro, using bright colors and a little mixed media. I love how she used a stencil to incorporate the triangle element into her layout. The banners are a fun twist on the layout too. I love how she added vellum banners with the patterned papers for more interest. She has so many textures but they all work together to bring this layout together and bring focus to her photo. You can check out her process video on The Crafty Maven Getaway channel, here.
