Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another incredibly creative design team project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is such a clever and eye-catching layout that uses a simple technique in the most beautiful way!

Cassie, our design team member, created this stunning page by using a cut-out heart as a mask on her background. She then inked over it using three different ink colors, building a soft blended effect around the heart shape while keeping the center clean.
Once she removed the mask, she was left with a beautiful heart-shaped focal area right in the center of the page.

She then placed her photos directly inside the heart, making them the main focus of the entire layout. From there, she built up the design with embellishments, layering details around the heart to frame the photos and bring everything together.

The result is a layout that feels both simple and incredibly impactful, with a strong focal point and beautiful color blending throughout the background.
✨ Why This Project Inspires
• Heart mask technique: Creates a bold focal shape
• Blended inks: Add soft color and depth
• Photo placement: Makes the heart the main storytelling element
• Embellishing around the focal point: Frames and enhances the design
I love how this layout turns such a simple idea into something so striking. The heart shape immediately draws your eye in, and the ink blending makes the background feel soft and artistic.

🎨 Try This Technique
If you want to recreate this look, cut a simple heart shape from paper and use it as a mask on your background.
Blend 2–3 ink colors around it, then remove the mask to reveal your focal area. Add your photo inside the shape and build embellishments around it to complete your design.
