🌸 Design Team Inspiration: Floral Tissue Paper & Mixed Media Layers

Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another beautiful project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is a stunning art journal page made by design team member, Shannon, that combines floral tissue paper with inks and paints for a beautifully layered mixed media look. Watch the video here.

This page was created by building up soft layers using ink and paint, creating a colorful and artistic background full of movement and depth. The colors blend and flow across the page, giving it that loose, creative feel that works so well in art journaling.

She then added floral tissue paper, layering it into the background so the delicate patterns peek through the color. This adds a soft, almost vintage feel while also bringing in extra texture and interest.

The combination of the bold, artistic background with the soft floral elements creates a beautiful balance that feels both expressive and cohesive.

✨ Why This Project Inspires

• Floral tissue paper: Adds soft detail and subtle texture
• Inks and paints: Create movement and artistic flow
• Layering techniques: Build depth and visual interest
• Mixed media style: Perfect for creative expression

I love how this page feels so free and artistic while still having those soft floral touches that bring everything together.

🎨 Try This Technique

If you want to recreate this look, start by adding the tissue paper with mod podge or another media glue. Once dry, add your inks and paints to your background and let them blend naturally. Don’t worry about perfection—just let the color move.

This is such a fun and creative way to add layers and texture to your art journal pages.
