Stash It (Crystal Barrett)

Hello everyone it is Crystal with Pineapple Papers and I am up on the Crafty Maven Getaway with some fun way to use your stash. First I am starting with this “Beautiful” cut file. I believe that it is from COAPA. I think it was a free one on the Facebook group.

I used the Jack and Jill 6×6 paper pad to back the cut file. This is a great way to use your 6×6 paper pads or even your scraps. Which if you are like me you have a ton of.

After that the layout came together pretty fast. I just used a sticker sheet from Echo Park to embellish. To create some dimension I popped some of the sticker up with some foam squares.

To finish off the page I used the sequin mix Gum Drops from Spiegelmom Scraps.

I hope you head over to the YouTube Channel and check out the process.

Stash It (Crystal Barrett)

Hello everyone it is Crystal with Pineapple Papers and I am up on the Crafty Maven Getaway today.  Today I am digging into my stash. I have this drawer full Christmas stuff. It really is a mess and there is no organization to it. I have been loving all the Christmas videos in July. I just didn’t have a time so I want to play a little this month.

I first dug through the drawer and picked out several items I wanted to play with. I have these My Minds Eye large letters. This makes the focus the main part of my page.

I really wanted to use several of the scraps of paper that were in my stash. I pulled them out and layered them up based on the size they were. No cutting involved. I love paper. The more paper I can get on a page makes me happy.

Because the title was so big there was not much room for embellishments. Mainly a few brads, sequins and stickers.

I hope that this inspires you to dig in your stash.

Art Party (Crystal Barrett)

Hello everyone it is Crystal with Pineapple Papers. Today I am up on the Crafty Maven Getaway Channel. I am playing with some Shimmerz. I did not gesso my page. I use 110 pound white cardstock that I get from Joanns and it takes mild mixed media well. I would not put a ton of water on it without gesso though. These are the colors that I am working with.

My plan is to make a Christmas tree. Honestly I am not very good but I do like how it turned out in the end. I added the gold to act as the ribbon that is on our real tree.

I thought it would be fun to decorate my painted tree with some sequins. These are the ones I chose. They both should still be available.

And I love how it turned out.

I have learned that when you do a focal point like this tree on your layout that it needs only minimal embellishing!

Sketch It: OMG (Crystal Barrett)

Happy New Year!!!! I couldn’t think of a better way to start the New Year than with some scrapping! Today I am up on the Crafty Maven Getaway YouTube Channel and I am using this awesome sketch that I found on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page made by Michelle Wedertz.

This is a 12 x 12 sketch but I felt that it was very easy to adapt to a 8 1/2 x 11 page, which is the size that I am doing for our anniversary trip to Mexico. Today I am scrapping 2  photos 3 x 4 each on one 4 x 6 print. They are of the Cenote that we swam in. It was so cool. I added some crape paper for texture. The black and white paper is from Crate Paper Wild Heart collection as will as the chipboard and thickers. 20181230_142517

My favorite part of this layout is the shaker pocket that I make with SpiegelMom Scraps sequins in Sweet Pea. All I did was fill an empty sequin ziplock bag with sequins and adhere the ziplock part under the photo. Poof quick shaker pocket.

I hope this inspires you to use some sketches in 2019. Tag me I would love to see what you make.
