Free Flow Wednesday: (Feb. 17) Rachel Reynolds & NicMackin

Hi crafty Maven’s!! I hope you’re all having a great week!!  I’m Here to share a couple layouts that Rachel and Nicole made for us today.

You can find Rachels process video below and her personal YouTube channel here.

Here’s a photo of her finished layout:

Rachel said, “It was so nice to end my tenure here at the CMG with a Free Flow Wednesday LO. I love all the other days, but was relaxing to just go with the flow.

I forgot to mention in my voiceover how I was inspired by the weekly inspiration piece! So goofy, since my title “Bloom with Love” came about from reading the quote for this week’s piece. The colors and florals were also big influences.

Thanks again to all the wonderful watchers and subscribers. Also a big thanks to Hannah and all the amazing women who make up the CMG, it has been awesome working along side all of you for these past months.”

It’s so sad to see Rachel, and the other ladies doing their last layouts for CMG this month!! It has been so fun working with and getting to know these awesome ladies!

Next up is Nicole with her layout and process video. You can find it on the crafty maven getaway channel or below. Also, her YouTube channel can be found here.

Here’s a photo of her layout:

And Nicole said,  “This layout started as a prompt from Layout A Day which was to scrapbook about transportation. I used one collection, Dear Lizzy’s Documentary and layered papers and embellishments that fit the story.”

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a good one!

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: NICMACKIN & KELLY(FROGGIE251)

Hello! It’s Scraplift Saturday again and this time we’re taking on a Missy Whidden layout:

Capture

Here’s what Nicole had to say:

“Kelly Overmann Olea and I both scraplifted a Hip Kit Club Design team Layout by Missy Whidden. I loved everything about it…the title, the mixed media, the embellishment layering…and had a blast scraplifting most of it!”

You can see her process here and if you’d like to see more of Nicole here’s her own YouTube channel:

Next we have Kelly:

“For this layout I decided to scraplift Missy Whidden. I have really been inspired by her work for a while now and couldn’t wait for an opportunity to lift this layout. It is probably one of my favorites that she has done. I used gesso, distress paint, and inktense pencils for the background with a little bit of color shine splatters. The collection I used was from Pebbles that I got in a Crafty Steals haul (love that website…but it is a bit dangerous to my wallet :)). The only thing outside of the pebbles collection were the turquoise Thickers. To top it off I added some enamel dots and sewing.”

Spotlight Sunday: Nicole Mackin

Nicole Mackin is up on the Crafty Maven Getaway for the Sunday, December 27 Spotlight video.  Nicole is a delightful member of the Crafty Maven team and in her video she describes her scrappy style, history and craft space.

Nicole and her husband and two daughters live in the country in the state of Nebraska; they are big Corn Husker fans (their college team).  Nicole grew up in Nebraska and loves her home state.  Her genuine and sweet demeanor are clearly evident as she shares about her family and her home.

Nicole started to journal and capture memories as a young girl.  She and her mom loved to scrap together and Nicole cherishes all of those memories and little details she has documented over the years.  Sadly, Nicole and her husband both lost their parents within a very short period of time and so the memories captured became even more special and cherished.

Nicole loves to try lots of different scrappy styles; she loves to layer, try vintage looks, and create some sparkle in her layouts.  She loves to scrap lift from magazines or from YouTube videos and she contributed to an episode of The Scrap Gals Podcast on this topic.

Nicole finishes up her video by taking us on a tour of her amazing scrap space.  Wow, it’s awesome!!  Thanks for sharing that Nicole!  One of the things on my to-do list in the new year is to make my craft room more organized, so I loved the craft room share.

Below is the link to the Spotlight video and to Nicole’s YouTube channel and some examples of her projects on the Crafty Maven channel.

Mix It Up Monday: NicMackin

Aloha Crafters!! It’s Mix It Up Monday today!! The The Crafty Maven is off to a fun start using the new inspiration piece this week. Which is hugely inspired by winter and christmas time.

Here is a quick reminder of what the inspiration looks like.

December 4

I love what our Design Team Member Nicole made for us with this inspiration piece. She made for the channel these cute little embellishments.

Here is what Nicole said about her post today, ” I did something a tad different for Mix it up Monday! I made these cute magnets using a My Minds Eye 6×6 paper pad, Glossy Accents and magnets. You could also leave off the magnets and they would make for cute page embellishments too.”

Here is a look at them. They are literally as cute as a button!

You can see Nicole make them here.

You can see more process videos and other crafty videos on Nicole’s personal Youtube channel.

Thanks for checking us out today and I hope you were inspired!!

Aloha, Hannah

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: FROGGIE251 & NICKMACKIN

Happy Saturday 🙂

We have two great videos for you today for our Scraplift Saturday; first up is froggie251 (Kelly):

For this layout I used a scrapbook page from Marcy Penner (marcypenner.com). I really like how she used a single layout for the layout and not a lot of layering behind the photo. I wanted to try something a little different than what I typically do so I thought that this would be a fun layout to scraplift. For the layout I mostly used items from the Crate Paper – Emma’s Shoppe collection. I thought the style of the collection went well with the older picture.

Here’s her process and to see more of Kelly here’s her own channel:

Next up we have Nicole with her take:

Kelly and I scraplifted a layout by Mercy Penner. I love it because the design is not one I would normally do on my own as I tend to do lots of layering. The 1/2 page design is very unique and such a fun use of embellishments. I used Amy Tangerines Finders Keepers line. (And really ended up straying from the inspiration piece as I ended up using brighter colors).

I LOVE how she used this paper line! And the way she embellished and used the owl for her journaling. So cute!!

That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed these layouts! I’ll see you tomorrow with another post!

Twerk It Thursday: Nicole Mackin and Katty Miranda

Aloha Scrappers!!!  It’s Twerk It Thursday!! I promise that no actual twerking is involved on this day, unless you want too! I don’t know about you but I love to incorporate sketches in my albums. They are a great way to make my pages a little different then the normal styles I stick to when scrapping without one.

Today both Nicole and Katty are going to be using the same sketch. I love when the ladies use the same sketch. I love seeing how how different people with different styles see a sketch and turn it into them, or their style.

Here is a look at the sketch that the ladies are using today, from sketch-n-scrap designed by Lisa Hidy. This sketch is a really fun sketch! I love how it gives room for lots of layers!

Nicole Mackin, did a lovely job! I love that wood veneer for the title. I love how she used a big tag for a layer. The colors she used!  I also love how she used the striped paper to do her journaling on!! You can watch Nicole’s process video here.  You can also see more process videos from Nicole on her personal Youtube channel here.  Here is a look at Nicole’s layout!

Katty (who is on the design team over at the sketch-n-scrap website) did an amazing job with this sketch as well. I love how the bright colors pops on that dark cardstock. Those layers have so much details!! This layout is definitely really cool. You can watch Katty put together this layout, here is the link.  You can also see more process videos on her personal Youtube here.  Here is a look at Katty’s layout.
