Aloha Crafters!! Today Is Sketch It Out Thursday! Whether you love sketches or loathe them, It is always fun to see the transformation from what is on a sheet of paper come to life on a scrapbooking page.

Today Melissa Vining is making a page on The Crafty Maven Getaway. She is using a sketch by Laura Whitaker. It is a take on a grid design.

“For Sketch it Up Thursday (4th). I was inspired by the colours in the moodboard, and immediately thought of Pink Paislee “Cedar Lane”. I’ve used my November Clique Kit. I love Laura Whitaker’s sketches, and loved the patchwork look of this one to be able to feature beautful papers – my most favorite product!!! This is my last layout, I’ve had an absolute blessed time being here, will miss you all, and am looking forward to being inspired by the new DT. See you all in Youtube and Social media land. Spotlight Sunday: Melissa Vining

Our Spotlight Sunday contributor for December 20, 2015 is Melissa Vining. Melissa calls Queenstown, New Zealand home, where she and her husband and their three children reside. Melissa works as a Town Planning Consultant in Queenstown. They are presently enjoying summer in New Zealand! When Melissa isn’t working or spending time with family, she loves to mountain bike, go to the the gym and more recently, ballet dance! Melissa recalls the beginning of her passion for memory keeping to be a time when she was introduced to Creative Memories brag books that her sister-in-law was creating. The craft quickly stole her imagination and she soon developed her own style. Melissa has been on many design teams in the past and is presently a designer for the Clique Kits Design Team.

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY:MELISSA VINING & CHRISTYS BEAUTIFUL LIFE

It’s Saturday and today our two design team members are scraplifting themselves – have you ever thought to do that?

“I chose an old layout from my oldest daughter’s baby album. I was inspired by the colours and the heart image in the mood board. I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe for the “cute” heart. I loved the challenge of scraplifting myself in my current style.”

Hello Crafty Mavens! Sorry I missed my post on Monday, it has been one of those crazy weeks!!

Today I have 2 wonderful layouts to share with you! Here’s the sketch these Melissa and Dannielle decided to use:

About her layout, Melissa said, “I was totally inspired by the colours in the mood board. I shopped my stash and found an old Paper Bakery kit that I had barely used. It had perfect colours of orange and blue. I interpreted the burlap flowers as a natural element and used the wood veneers. Instead of 4 photos I used a glassine bag and put my extra journaling inside on a card. The photos are of my youngest looking cute after her bath in her big brother’s hooded Cars towel.”

Free Flow Wednesday: CraftinmommaML and Melissa Vining

Aloha Scrappers!! I hope you are enjoying this new look for us here at The Crafty Maven Getaway!! Also I hope your week has been going smoothly this week. Can you believe we are almost half way through October already? I surely can’t, time is just blowing by.

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway CraftinmommaML is posting another 8 1/2 by 11 layout. I love how she does this size and shares her amazing work with us. There isn’t enough scrapbookers sharing this size and it’s a shame because this is such a fun size. I love seeing this size in my album even though I admit it is difficult to scrap when I do.

Here is what Teresa said about her process, “Hey scrapbookers, it’s Teresa here (Craftinmommaml) Today it’s Free Flow Wednesday and we have an amazing mood board I’m being inspired by. As soon as I seen it, I knew right away I wanted to pull out Heidi Swapp “Hello Beautiful” Collection! the colours matched perfectly! I just couldn’t keep with the mood colours so i had to add a hint of pink in my layout as well!!! I’m a sucker for layers, so I used all the colours to layer up my photo and use hints of white cut files to add to the background!”

Scraplift Saturday: Melissa Vining & Sweet Nothings Paper Co.

Hello Crafty Mavens! How are you on this wonderful weekend morning?!! I hope well and ready to embrace the day with some crafty inspiration! I have two wonderful ladies sharing their creative process with us today.

These ladies chose to scraplift a layout made by Melanie Blackburn:

Don’t you just love it?!! There are so many things I love about it! the ‘OH MY…” stamp has to be my fave though! I love the hand cut ‘TOOTH’ title too. And the texture with the sewing on the top and bottom pattern papers. Great layout!

Lina also made a layout for us today with the new Wonder collection by Crate Paper. Let me tell you, every time I see a new layout with this collection it just makes me want it so much more!!
