In Your Pocket Tuesday (Aug 9): Banning Lane

Hello scrappy friends! Dannielle here with you to share my pocket page spread.

When I saw the inspiration piece for this week, I immediately thought of adventure, and that definitely showed up in my Project Life® spread this week. I only documented two stories from my week, but both of them are some adventures that were going on in my life. I decided to use some Studio Calico digital products that I have in my stash because they were colorful, which is another thing that I took from the inspiration piece.

Overall I am super happy with how this turned out, and if you want to see how it came together be sure to check out my process video!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you have a great week!

In Your Pocket Tuesday: (July 19) Banning Lane

Hello scrappers! When I looked at the inspiration piece for this week, the rainbow, and the color yellow stood out to me. My daughter is obsessed with rainbows right now, so I knew I probably had a picture or a story that included rainbows. My favorite color is yellow, so I was super happy to include some of that in my layout!
This layout was pretty simple. and came together super quick. I used cards from my Ali Edwards Story Kits™ and a lot of white! I also used a couple stamps on this weeks spread. I have decided I need to start using my stamps more, and my Project Life® album is the perfect place to do that.
The only thing I forgot to include was the week number. I plan on stamping that on a piece of vellum and treating it like an insert!

Free Flow Wednesday: (June 8)

Hello and happy hump day, crafty Maven’s! This is Dannielle and I’m here to share my free flow layout with you.

When I saw the mens dress shoes in the inspiration piece, I was immediately reminded of a photo and story that I have yet to scrapbook. The picture on this layout is one of my little brother, and my hubby at a graduation banquet.
The men’s shoes may have reminded me of this photo, but I took my color inspiration from all the other pictures from the inspiration piece. I love all the browns and blue, with just a pop of pink.

All the papers I used on my layout came from my scrap box. I always get anxious about cutting up a 12×12 piece of paper, so using scraps is my favorite way to scrap. Once I got may layers in place, I looked through my stash for some simple embellishments. This is a go to style for me, and I love the way it turned out.

In Your Pocket Tuesday: (May 24) Banning Lane

Hello Crafty Mavens! Dannielle here today with you and I’m excited to share my spread.

When I sat down to work on my week 20 of Project Life®, the first thing I did was look at this weeks inspiration piece. I saw the pink flower and I knew instantly what cards I was going to use. I had a pink and green cards from my current Felicity Jane kit that reminded me so much of that flower. I was even more happy when I saw how well they went with my photos this week. It was just meant to be!! This spread came together really quick, and I love the way it turned out.

I try to approach each week of project life by documenting what things in my life are the same, and what things are different. I think it helps to tell a more complete story. Be sure to check out my process video to see how this layout came together!

Plan It Sunday: Banning Lane

Aloha Crafters!! I hope this spring or fall is treating you well. That you have been getting a chance to enjoy the weather changes and getting in some family fun time as well as meeting your creative appetite 🙂

Today for Plan It Sunday Banning Lane is letting as take a look into her planner.

Here is what she has to say about her planning this week, “I didn’t do anything to fancy in my planner this week, but then again I never do. I used my go to stickers and stamps to decorate my week. I didn’t have any planner stickers in my stash that matched this week inspiration piece, so I created some very basic boxes and to-do headers as a base for my week. I then added some of my cuter stickers from my stash, like the grocery bag and the spa face, to fancy it up just a bit. I left plenty of white space to fill in plans through out the week as they happen. If you want to see how this spread came together, check out the process video below.”

In Your Pocket Tuesday: (April 5) Banning Lane

Hello scrappy friends!! This is Dannielle here today with a Pocket page spread to share with you.

I am not usually a chronological, “up to date” scrapper… except for when it comes to my Project Life® album. It is just the sort of project I like to keep current. This winter has been pretty tough for my little family. At any given point one, or all of us were sick. As much as I wanted to be perfectly caught up with Project Life® it just wan’t possible. So now I am several weeks behind and I need to play that awful game of catch up. My plan of attack is to keep it simple, don’t over think my choices, and to pick only the photos that best tell the stories of our everyday life just as it is right now.

For my week 11 I decided to take keep it REALLY simple. I made the choice early on to use only white card stock for my whole spread. I don’t know that I love it, but I definitely don’t hate it. After I had my cards cut and in place, I went through my stamp stash to find a phrase that went along with each story I wanted to tell. I loved all the color in the inspiration piece, so I decided to use a different color of ink on each card. To add a bit more interest, I use foam adhesive to pop up each stamped phrase, and also layered them on top of some super cute polka dot vellum.

Even though it is overly plain, and not something I typically do, I love that I have one more week in my album. Check out my process video if you want to see how this whole spread came together.

Sketch It Out Thursday: Banning Lane

Hello Crafty Maven friends!! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day!! I have a gorgeous layout to share with you today made by Dannielle, who is Banning Lane on YouTube.

This is the sketch she used to make her layout. She found it on Pinterest, you can find the link here.

You can find her process video on the Crafty Macen Getaway YouTube channel below:

She said about her layout, “For this layout I started by digging into my box of scraps for papers that matched in inspiration piece. I LOVE blues and greens, but I don’t commonly use them together on a layout. I was going to let my papers I found inspire the story that I told. After I had my supplies gathered and my photo printed I went searching for a sketch on Pinterest. I found a pretty simple one that I knew would work well with all the little scraps I had gathered. I had so much fun creating this layout and working with colors that were a bit out of my comfort zone.”

I just love her take on the sketch!! So simple but so gorgeous!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great rest of your week!

Mix It Up Monday: Banning Lane

” This year I decided that I wanted to use a smaller personal planner for on the go in addition to my bigger A5 planner that stays at home. I fell in love with the white planner from Websters Pages, but it came without it’s “guts”. I loved all the blues and oranges in the inspiration piece, so I used that color scheme to make my dividers. I used my silhouette to cut them out so this project was super easy. You can check out my process video to see what other inserts I am going to be using this year.”  Banning Lane

Free Flow Wednesday: Banning Lane and Sarah Swann

Aloha Scrappers!! Happy Hump Day!  I hope you all are having a productive week!!
Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Sarah and Banning Lane decided to do something a little different together. They challenged each other to do a recipe challenge as part of the inspiration for their layouts.
Banning Lane said,”It made this layout so easy to put together because most of the choices were already made for me. I really like the way all the little circle elements look against the two big squares my layout.”

Here is a look at the layout Banning Lane made.

Sarah Swann also used the same recipe for her layout. I love how even with the same recipe they both have completely different layouts. I really helps me see how you can change things to fit your own style of scrapbooking.

Here is a look at some close ups of Sarah’s layout about eating at Bobby Flay’s restaurant in Las Vegas.
