Aloha!!

It’s Hannah here and I wanted to stop in and say hello!! I want to thank you all for following The Crafty Maven Getaway!! We love inspiring you and creating content that helps you want to create, craft and share what you are working on.

This year you are going to see a few new changes especially as the year goes on. I hope you are as excited as we are about these changes.

Change 1, we are switching to only have a monthly Inspiration Piece. As much as I love making these pieces, or sharing ones the team has made. It really makes more sense to have one a month. This will give you more changes to see the team use a piece in many different ways.

Change 2, We are adding more tutorial and organizing type videos to the channel. We would love to do product reviews, and other videos that can help you in your crafting. If you have ideas or things you would love to see us talk about in the videos add it to the comments or in our FaceBook group.

Change 3, We are bringing back For The Love Of Homemade Kits!!!! I hope you are excited for this one. Khristina is going to be making her own kit from the inspiration piece and using it all month and sharing videos on Sundays. Many of the other team members will be joining in with the homemade kits too. I really hope you play along with us and share your kits and layouts with the hashtag #ForTheLoveOf HomemadeKits or share it in our Facebook Group!!

Change 4, You are going to see more of me. I am planning on doing a weekly FB Live or YT live video. I really want to encourage you all to create the things you love and love what you are creating. This month I am working out the best days to share with you all. But I promise you will see plenty of me. I will also be bringing on some of the group with me to talk about scrapbooking topics in the facebook group.

Change 5, something you may have noticed already, the design team will be sharing their layouts and videos on the blog as well. I want you to really get to know them. They work so hard to share with you. This blog is a great place to start to build that relationship. Help encourage them by leaving them lots of love and comments on either their youtube posts or their blog posts.

Change 6, We will be having 2 online crops next year. I am also hoping to do a few more youtube hops throughout the year for your viewing pleasure.

Change 7, this year I am working on highlighting scrapbooking companies that we enjoy and want to share with you. I am hoping to get product in my teams hands to help inspire you. Last year we highlighted Cheeky Studio by my lovely friend Tuesdae who is a veteran Youtube Scrapbooker and such an inspiration. I would love to highlight more scrapbookers who have worked hard to follow their dreams. So look forward to seeing some cool things from us, and maybe even some giveaways.

As we start another scrappy new year I really look forward to getting to know you and giving you inspiration that you want to see. That is my highest priority. I can’t wait to bring you some great stuff this year!!

The Crafty Maven Getaway Online Crop Line Up

Aloha Crafty Mavens!!

I wanted to share with you a sneak of the Crop Line up for tomorrow in our Facebook Group.

The Crop times are EST time zone, some challenges will have process videos, link for Playlist on the Crafty Maven Getaway YT Channel, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ0GNvFQB9YjcgPj_Hu6fao4tupGXZr4C. Some of the Challenges and games will be posted as FB Live in the Crafty Maven Getaway FB Group.

Please make sure all submissions are placed in the thread listing the challenge. If your layouts or spreads aren’t added to these threads they won’t count toward prizes.

All submissions are due by December 14th 10pm EST. The winners will be announced on December 15th 1 PM EST so please make sure you stayed tuned to that!!

Also at some point throughout the day I will be doing a split screen FB Live with Crafty Meggy and we are going to be discussing New Year’s Scrappy Goals. If you have questions and things to ask or are wanting us to chit chat about during this session feel free to tag me in the FB group before hand.

Crafty Maven Getaway Online Crop Dec 2017

Aloha Crafty Mavens!!

I do not know if you have heard but on December 9th, this Saturday (EST) the Crafty Maven Getaway is hosting an online Crop. Tomorrow, Friday, I will make sure to post here the challenge layout for Saturday. I hope you grab your scrappy supplies ready and spend some time with us.

I know its a busy season but I was hoping to create a small sanctuary of crafty goodness for the weekend. A place you can get away for a few hours and hopefully you have a chance to play and win a prize.

We have a great line up of designers and Youtubers who are bringing some fun and amazing challenges. We are also planning on having a few FB live sessions.

One I am so very excited about. My scrappy bestie Crafty Meggy is joining me in a dual FB live together and we will be talking about scrapbooking New Year resolutions!! I hope you join us because you can weigh in and also tell us what your scrapbooking New Years resolutions are too.

Our Online Crop will be held in our FB group, so use the link and join us this Saturday December 9th for lots of crafty fun and crafting!!

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I hope this week brings the chance to create and craft!! This week is Spring Break here in Hawaii. Which is nice for me, because I get a break from teaching and school books. I know I am planning on scrapbooking.

I wanted to share with you the Inspiration Piece for this week.

I was really inspired by the top pattern, I love the quilted type of look and those colors, I could swoon.

Aloha Scrappers!!

I can’t believe it’s Sunday already. A new week is about to begin. This past week has went way too fast. Even though time goes so fast I am always glad to have my camera handy to capture the little moments I want to remember.

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway it’s Spotlight Sunday. We are getting a closer look at the lovely and talented Sarah Swann. I love Sarah’s face to face videos!! She is always so fun and down to earth! I know you scrappers will love Sarah’s Spotlight video.

Spotlight Sunday: Tanya Hubbard

Aloha Scrappers!!

I am sorry this Spotlight post is a little late. We celebrated my kids birthday this weekend, We have two birthdays in a week. That means crazy fun!!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to start a new week!! Ready to be inspired this week by the lovely ‘Cravens’ as Tanya calls us!!

For Spotlight Sunday Tanya Hubbard was up, and sharing with us her life! She shares her room, she talks about her evolving style, and even her cats!!

I love how Spotlight Sunday really showcases each Crafty Maven who posts, and Tanya’s Spotlight is no different. She has a wonderful sense of humor, that just has one laughing along with her. I always feel happier after watching one of her videos, her love and humor for life really shines through her videos and layouts.

She, like all the Crafty Mavens, is so talented. Her are a few looks at some layouts that Tanya has done.

Another fun thing about Sunday is that I share with you the inspiration piece we will be using throughout the week!! I love this part of the week, I really have so much fun taking ideas from the “Cravens” and searching around Pinterest for ideas that I think will inspire everyone, and not just the ladies posting to the Youtube but all you viewers and crafters. I want you to be inspired to create and document your memories!!

I can’t wait to see what the ‘Cravens’ do with it but also you viewers too. You can share with us the layouts and projects you are working on in our FB group. We have tons of conversations there and lots of sharing and inspiration!! If you aren’t already there we would love to have you join us!!

Another fun element that we will be starting soon is sharing tools or techniques on Sundays. We have almost finished Spotlighting all the wonderful ladies who post on The Crafty Maven Getaway. Though we still want to share and inspire you everyday, so we will be highlighting tools or techniques on Sundays!! We may not have tools or techniques every Sunday since we are still Spotlighting the Posters but for fun I thought I would give you a peek of my process video setup for our first tool Spotlight. I know many Scrapbookers who are curious about filming videos always have questions about set up. This is an excellent place to Spotlight that. I know this video isn’t for everyone, but that is the great thing about this channel, that there is a little something for everyone.

Aloha Scrapers!! I am so sorry this is up so late!! This weekend has been fun and crazy!! I think I may need two of me!! As many of you know we hosted an online crop this Saturday at The Crafty Maven Getaway Destination FB Group, it was Epic!! It has kept me really busy but the good busy!! There has been so much inspiration flowing from all the members!!

Today I want to share with you our Spotlight Sunday video!! CraftinmommaML, is sharing herself with us!! She is so talented and down to earth!! I just love her. I love her video, where she chats with us and then shares the cutest collage/slideshow of photos of her life and layouts!!

Online Crop This Weekend

Hey My Crafty Mavens!! I am really excited to share with you a little bit more about what is going on this weekend over at our Facebook Group, The Crafty Maven Getaway Destination.

We are hosting our first online crop in our Facebook Group!! We are going to be having challenges all day Saturday (Eastern Standard Time). On Friday evening PST there will be a fun Skype chat with ScrapsByJen !!

All the challenges will be open for one week (Sept 26, 2015 12 midnight EST) so everyone has a chance to get their layouts in!! Some challenges will prizes some will not, so you will definitely want to check everything out on our Facebook Group for all the details, which are starting to roll in.

All of us at The Crafty Maven have been cooking up challenges and ideas to make this online really EPIC!! Who doesn’t like the chance to scrap and chat all day with your friends and mentors. The only thing that would make it better would be to have the crop in person, but that isn’t an option for us right now, maybe in the future though!!

I really Don’t want to give too much away so I am just going to send you over to our Facebook Group The Crafty Maven Getaway Destination so you can join us in all the fun!!

I have already posted a mood board that I made for the online crop, I hope you find it inspiring!! Maybe even some of the posters to the channel will use it too. Here is a look at it!!

I am currently working on a kit that I planned to use during the day with the challenges I am playing along with. That kit I will be sharing later Thursday evening (Hawaiian Time), so keep a look out for that kit!!

Twerk It Thursday: Nicole Mackin and Katty Miranda

Aloha Scrappers!!! It’s Twerk It Thursday!! I promise that no actual twerking is involved on this day, unless you want too! I don’t know about you but I love to incorporate sketches in my albums. They are a great way to make my pages a little different then the normal styles I stick to when scrapping without one.

Today both Nicole and Katty are going to be using the same sketch. I love when the ladies use the same sketch. I love seeing how how different people with different styles see a sketch and turn it into them, or their style.

Here is a look at the sketch that the ladies are using today, from sketch-n-scrap designed by Lisa Hidy. This sketch is a really fun sketch! I love how it gives room for lots of layers!

Nicole Mackin, did a lovely job! I love that wood veneer for the title. I love how she used a big tag for a layer. The colors she used! Katty (who is on the design team over at the sketch-n-scrap website) did an amazing job with this sketch as well. I love how the bright colors pops on that dark cardstock. Those layers have so much details!! This layout is definitely really cool. You can watch Katty put together this layout, here is the link.
