Aloha My scrappy friends!! If you haven’t seen it floating around social media, this week is a super special week on our channel. This week we are having a Throwback to Two Peas week. Two Peas is a big influence for the idea of this channel, great designers sharing inspiration everyday in one place. Many of us crafters and scrapbookers have been inspired and loved Two Peas and all they had to offer us. It was a sad day, when they closed down their doors.

I really want to take this week and reflect on all the amazing things Two Peas did for us. Each of the videos this week is inspired by the designers who have been on the Two Peas Youtube channel and design team. And there has been so many. We also can’t forget to mention the amazing community that surrounded Two Peas. It was a great place to hang out, share what you’re working on, and creating friendships.

On our Facebook group we will be sharing all the videos we are posting as well as questions geared towards The Two Peas. I will be having a few challenges to have some fun. We also have something special too, but I will wait to tell you about that!!

Also the inspiration Piece the design team is using this week is this..

I am really loving the light and pastel colors for this board. I really tried to be inspired by the Two Peas channel when designing this board. I hope it inspires you.

Here is what she has to say about her post. “I actually had such grand plans with my planner which just never came off; but in the process I did discover I like to do monthly reviews so I’m hoping to carry on doing these for the remainder of the year.”

Free Flow Wednesday: (Jan. 6) Crafty Meggy and Tanya Hubbard

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! We have reached hump day and this week I trying to get my earrings back after a very nice holiday season. Back to school, back to normal chores and routines and back to work!! Thank Goodness for all the inspiration on The Crafty Maven Getaway Channel to help me not lose my mind from all that needs to be done around me!!

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Tanya Hubbard created an awesome layout. It mights me want to go to the beach or go sit in the sun.

“Firstly I do apologise for not using the inspiration piece but as I mention in my video – we’re right in the middle of a very hot summer and I just didn’t have any wintery type photos to scrap; so I went with a project I’m working on which is scrapping some photos of a trip my kids took to Mauritius with my family. Some mixed media goodness in the background and layering of embellishments around the photo finish it off. I really like how my background turned out; I feel the yellow paper on the left offsets the whole thing nicely,” Tanya explains.

Also posting to the Crafty Maven Getaway is Crafty Meggy. I really like Megan’s classic style layout. The design is really nice and simple, but it really helps the patterns on the paper stand out. Here is what Megan says about her layout.

“For this layout I was really inspired by the pure white in a couple of the mood board pieces. Some close friends of ours were sealed together as a family recently and this photo of them all in white just stood out to me as I searched for a photo to fit the inspiration piece. I kept the layout simple because I wanted the focus to be on them and the wonderful event that took place that day in their lives.”

Sketch It Up Thursday: ScrapsbyJen & Tanya Hubbard

Hello friends! I hope you’re having a wonderful day!! I am going to be sharing two wonderful layouts with you today!

This is the layout these two decided to use for today’s layouts:

First up we have Jen Stokes, aka ScrapsbyJen. You can find her YouTube channel here and below is her process video with some pictures:

Jen said about her layout, “Used the inspiration piece this week to push me to move a bit away from totally traditional Halloween colours and a both the sketch and the inspiration piece that that centre design. This isn’t a typical design I use so was nice to challenge myself to do something different. I used a TON of old embellishments (brads, buttons, etc) I have had in my stash for a LONG LONG time to create the fun clusters of embellishments.”

Tanya said, “I thought I’d try something a bit different this time and take an old SC Project Life kit – August 2014 (no judging! ;)) and use only what was in it and white cardstock for the background. I followed the sketch pretty much exactly just instead of more photos; I used the 3×4 cards. It’s simple and not really my usual style but I love how it came out in the end.”

The Crafty Maven Getaway Podcast Episode 1

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I have some really exciting news to share with you today, The Crafty Maven Getaway is now going to be doing a podcast!! Tanya Hubbard and I (Hannah L) will be co hosting with many of our design team members the episodes. We will be discussing crafting topics and talking about inspiration. We want to incorporate what we are doing on the Youtube into the topics we are discussing on the podcast.

I hope you are as excited as Tanya and I are, for now the podcast will be released every two weeks. We really want to produce interesting, thought producing and entertaining content for you viewers.

Today I am sharing with you our first Podcast!! You will hear some background info on the Youtube channel. We are also discussing the theme days on the podcast. Tanya and I talk about what our mission for the podcast is, besides just having fun and talking crafty/scrapbooking stuff together. We end the podcast episode getting to know each other a little more with some trivia about ourselves.

Aloha!! Happy Wednesday!!

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Channel Tanya is sharing another amazing layout with us. I love Tanya’s style, her fun personality shines through onto her scrapbooking layouts!!

Here is what Tanya said about her layout, “I wanted to use up as many of the chipboard stickers I had left over of Maggie Holme’s Confetti line and in a series of fortuitous events – the inspiration piece for this week has purple in it; I had a set of letter stickers recently bought that were purple and a birthday picture of my daughter wearing the very same colour purple shirt – how could I not go with using purple from the inspiration? smile emoticon It all came together very quickly and I managed to use up all but 3 of the chipboard elements – that’s a win in my book.”

Spotlight Sunday: Tanya Hubbard

Aloha Scrappers!!

I am sorry this Spotlight post is a little late. We celebrated my kids birthday this weekend, We have two birthdays in a week. That means crazy fun!!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to start a new week!! Ready to be inspired this week by the lovely ‘Cravens’ as Tanya calls us!!

For Spotlight Sunday Tanya Hubbard was up, and sharing with us her life! She shares her room, she talks about her evolving style, and even her cats!!

I love how Spotlight Sunday really showcases each Crafty Maven who posts, and Tanya’s Spotlight is no different. She has a wonderful sense of humor, that just has one laughing along with her. I always feel happier after watching one of her videos, her love and humor for life really shines through her videos and layouts.

She, like all the Crafty Mavens, is so talented. Her are a few looks at some layouts that Tanya has done.

Another fun thing about Sunday is that I share with you the inspiration piece we will be using throughout the week!! I love this part of the week, I really have so much fun taking ideas from the “Cravens” and searching around Pinterest for ideas that I think will inspire everyone, and not just the ladies posting to the Youtube but all you viewers and crafters. I want you to be inspired to create and document your memories!!

I can’t wait to see what the ‘Cravens’ do with it but also you viewers too. You can share with us the layouts and projects you are working on in our FB group. We have tons of conversations there and lots of sharing and inspiration!! If you aren’t already there we would love to have you join us!!

Another fun element that we will be starting soon is sharing tools or techniques on Sundays. We have almost finished Spotlighting all the wonderful ladies who post on The Crafty Maven Getaway. Though we still want to share and inspire you everyday, so we will be highlighting tools or techniques on Sundays!! We may not have tools or techniques every Sunday since we are still Spotlighting the Posters but for fun I thought I would give you a peek of my process video setup for our first tool Spotlight. I know many Scrapbookers who are curious about filming videos always have questions about set up. This is an excellent place to Spotlight that. I know this video isn’t for everyone, but that is the great thing about this channel, that there is a little something for everyone.

The First Crafty Maven Getaway Online Crop

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I hope you had a chance to hop over to The Crafty Maven Youtube Channel and The Crafty Maven Getaway Destination FB Group!! The actual Crop is over now but it is still busy over at the group as everyone is sharing the layouts they have been working on this weekend!! The challenges end on September 26th at 11:59pm EST, so if you were thinking you wanted to join in on some of the challenges you still have time to check everything out!! Here are the rules for playing along.

Here is a quick description of the challenges in the order the were posted over in the FB Group. There are albums in the photo section of the group for each of these challenges. This is also where the entries for the challenges need to go in order to have chance to be entered to win, in the challenges that have prizes. Not all of them do, so if you aren’t sure ask in the comments section of the albums and we will let you know for sure the details.

PAINT BY NUMBERS
This challenge is to create a layout or 2 cards that contain the following:

Kelly’s Speed Challenge 6pm EST

Kelly usually take between 1-1.5 hours to complete a layout. Every now and then though she likes to challenge herself to get a layout done much quicker. So her challenge to you is to create a page from start to finish between 30-45 minutes. Gathering supplies, papers, and photos doesn’t count towards the time frame. Now…if you a really slow scrapbooker, try and cut your time by half. This isn’t supposed to be stressful!

Katty’s Sketch/Recipe Challenge (7pm EST)

For Katty’s 7 P.M Challenge she has a Sketch/Recipe challenge where she will be giving away a $25 gift card to the store of the winners choice(you must post your layout to my challenge album here on the Facebook group) So for one entry you can follow the sketch or for one entry you can follow the recipe:1. Use a stencil 2. Use wood veneer in at least two places 3.Use twine or for two entries you can do both(as I did in my layout. This is going to be fun!

This challenge is for the Crafty Maven getaway Destination FB Group Online Crop. The Challenge will be open for submissions until Saturday September 26, 2015 12pm EST. The winner will be chosen from random and will win a 25 dollar gift card from the online store of your choice. To enter your layout must be in the album that is marked for this challenge, which is in the Crafty Maven Getaway Destination FB Group. Your name will be entered once for using the layout and once for making a kit from your scrappy supplies and adding that picture in the album. Can’t wait to see what you make.

Hello, crafters! I’m sorry this post is a few days late! Yikes, I’ve been really bad with keeping up on everything this week! I hope you’re all having a great week!

We had a little scramble on Monday because the designer that was scheduled to post couldn’t do it and so Tanya so kindly stepped in! She had a Project Life layout all ready scrapped so she was able to post it for us on a day where mixing it up is what it’s all about.

Twerk It Thursday: Tanya Hubbard and Dani Brown

Aloha Scrappers!! I hope you are all doing well today! I am hoping that this afternoon to get in my craft room for some much deserved craft time.

Thanks for joining us at The Crafty Maven Getaway today!! Today the ladies decided to use a sketch by Angie Gutshall, here is the blog she had the sketch posted. Here is what the sketch looks like too.

I love Tanya Hubbard’s layout!! The way she used paper layers and stitching as her circle element turned out fantastic!! I love that she injected so much color into her layout!! That quote is so amazing!! Her is a look at her Layout!

Dani Brown’s layout also turned out just as amazing!! I love how she really did an awesome job reflecting on the week’s inspiration pice and the sketch. It can often be difficult to mesh together! Hello our crafty friends!! How are you on this Thursday? I hope well!! Sorry I’m getting this post up a bit late, but at least it’s still thursday, right?! I have two great videos to share with you today and they’re both so amazing!! I’ll just jump right into it.

First off I have Kelly, aka Froggie251, and she made a very pretty and wintery layout that I just LOVE! You can watch the video here.

I don’t know about you, but I am a HUGE Frozen fan!! I absolutely LOVE the mixed media she did on the background and that she did a scripty title with white water color!! It looks so perfect on the layout!

Then, we have Tanya and her layout is just so ADORBS! 🙂
