Aloha Crafters!!

It’s the end of January!! Can you believe the first month of the year is all done? Have you been sticking with your crafty goals so far? I know I had to adjust my goals near the end of the month. I always think there is more time than month, and with getting settled in after the holidays I just had to refocus and be truthful about what I can do crafting wise and what I need to have on the back burner.

I love though that we can come to this one place to find inspiration when we need it, and boy have I needed it this week!! It has been nice to sit down with the Crafty Mavens and watch them create when I was to tired too, and then save some ideas for when I do have time to sit down and scrap at my desk!!

Here is the inspiration piece for this week.

February Inspiration 1

I love the rich colors of this piece!! And copper is becoming my fave metallic to play with lately.

I hope this piece inspires you this week. Also don’t forget to check in later and see what the Crafty Maven gals make with this piece.

Also, this is the last month for many of our Design Team, they have worked so hard and some of the ladies are taking some time to do some things on their own. I can’t wait to see what they create on their own channels. I am also excited about adding some new faces in the mix of this fun channel. I hope you are excited about this too. The new team will be announced on February 14th, just two weeks away. And the new teams starts the first week of March.

Also look forward soon, to some upcoming things we have planned for the end of February/ beginning of March too!! It’s going to be so much fun!!

Have a great week my crafty friends!! I look forward to seeing you throughout the week!!

Aloha, Hannah

A snap shot of last week

Aloha Crafty Mavens!!This past week has been crazy for me, and I am not sure why. It seems we have been slacking and not posting every day, and I am so sorry for that!! I thought that just to check you up from the missing posts from last week, I would make a longer post today and list all the days we didn’t share the video.

This week then we will resume back to our normal blogging everyday.

Marianne made this really pretty layout for Wednesday. I love all the soft colors and the silhouette cut flowers!

Art Party Friday (Jan 29)

Adele (Inkie Quill) is creating in her art journal on The Crafty Maven for Friday. Her page is so pretty, I love the flowing hair of the girl on her page. The color just pops on the page too.

Scrap lift Saturday (Jan30)

Scifi Scrapper (Emma) and Crafty Meggy (Megan) are scrap lifting this really cool layout from Pinterest.

“For our layouts today Megan and I picked a fun inspiration piece. I was drawn to the big band of paper at the top – I normally avoid ‘top heavy’ layouts and was looking forward to trying it out! In contrast to the layout we were scraplifting, our inspiration piece this week was bright and bold and certainty made a statement! I couldn’t wait to see how such different palettes changed the look of the layout design.

When creating this layout mainly pulled from Bo Bunny’s #Forever Young – the colours are a perfect match, as well as pulling a few other pieces in, such as the Bella Blvd flower and Studio Calico hearts. I even used an old decorative hair clip on my layout!

The photo documents my last day in Atlanta last year, and the long wait at the hotel before I left for my evening flight. It’s always the part I hate the most – seeing the hotel empty of people after the event and knowing it’s over for another year. Still, all good things much come to an end, and I always know I’ll be returning the following year.” ~ Emma

“This week I wasn’t inspired by the inspiration piece, but fully inspired by the layout Emma and I chose to scraplift. I thought it was gorgeous and had so much fun putting my own little twist to it. I used the January Clique Kits kit for this layout.” ~Megan

Mix It Up Monday: Crafty Meggy

Hello and happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I was able to get a lot of scrapbooking done. It was nice!

Today I am sharing 4 cards that I made this weekend for Valentine’s Day. We don’t really celebrate Vday to the extreme that some people do, but it is fun to make cards and send my kids to school with Valentine’s.

In this process video I am making 4 cute and simple cards inspired by ones I found on pinterest. You can find each of the cards here, here and here. You can find my personal YouTube channel here and my process video on the Crafty Maven Getaway channel is below:

Here are some close up photos of the cards:

The one on the bottom left is my favorite I think. They were all really fun to make and like I said earlier, really simple. I love the added touch of paint and modeling paste to the two cards on the bottom. The top two are a good way to use up all of those rolls of washi tape I know you have!

For this card I used a pencil eraser dipped in paint and dabbed it on the base of the card. It was a fun technique and I will definitely being doing it again!

CMvdaycards7

For this card I popped it up on some 3D tape to give it a little bit more dimension and I just love using 3D tape! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and be sure to check us out on Facebook in our Crafty Maven Getaway Group!
