Free Flow Wednesday: Banning Lane and Sarah Swann

Aloha Scrappers!! Happy Hump Day!  I hope you all are having a productive week!!
Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Sarah and Banning Lane decided to do something a little different together. They challenged each other to do a recipe challenge as part of the inspiration for their layouts.
Banning Lane said,”It made this layout so easy to put together because most of the choices were already made for me. I really like the way all the little circle elements look against the two big squares my layout.”

Here is a look at the layout Banning Lane made.

You can watch more process videos on Banning Lane’s personal Youtube Channel.

Sarah Swann also used the same recipe for her layout. I love how even with the same recipe they both have completely different layouts. I really helps me see how you can change things to fit your own style of scrapbooking.

Here is a look at some close ups of Sarah’s layout about eating at Bobby Flay’s restaurant in Las Vegas.

IN YOUR POCKET TUESDAY: SCIFI SCRAPPER

Hello Again!

It’s Tuesday which means it’s pocket life style scrapping once again; and here’s a quick reminder of what the inspiration board looks like this week:

12006669_704997528818_5258378375964956146_o

Inspiration Piece: 15th-21st November

This time it’s SciFi Scrapper’s turn to inspire us with her pocket life pages:

“I’ve fallen a ‘little’ behind with my Project Life this year, and by a little I mean four months (!) so today I’m trying to catch up a little. I took the colours from the inspiration piece – the dark blues, yellows and rusty reds and picked papers that contained those elements. I also pulled a lot from my Freckled Fawn stash, as there were so many embellishments that went perfectly with the photos”

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: TINAGALE AND KATTY MIRANDA

Hello!

Today our two contributors decided to scraplift each other and both ended up with beautiful results – TinaGale is up first not scraplifting a layout of Katty’s but rather going with specific products and a series Katty has; really cool idea.

“I was inspired by co-contriibutor Katty Miranda. Looking through her layouts she obviously loves flowers and doilies so those were a must. I love to use up my stash and she has a great series Work it Wednesay where she creates a kit from her stash. I grabbed several products from my stash and created this layout of my daughter having fun creating snowflakes from some embossed die cuts I had made. I was teasing her because she wouldn’t glue them together so she was trying to hide under the table. LOL”

You can watch her process here and see more of her on her own channel:

Katty Miranda went with the more traditional approach and lifted a beautiful layout of TinaGale’s:

“This week TinaGale Husong and I decided to Scraplift each other. I knew immediately which layout of hers I wanted to lift. I absolutely love Tina’s layout. Everything about it, the design, the colors, overall it is just fabulous. I also really loved this weeks inspiration board. I love the combination of the pinks and silvers. I think the color scheme went very well with this photo I had printed in black & white of my adorable niece.:) ”

This is the stunning result:

Art Party Friday: Maggie Mylow

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! Hello Weekend, well almost, right?! I love this time of year here in Hawaii, the temperature gets a little cooler but the sun still shines bright. It makes outdoor activities really nice. I hope the weather is making family and friend time easier.

Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Maggie Mylow is sharing an art journal page she made. I love the way she thinks outside the box with this page, using tissue paper for flowers. I also love the peaks of black and white striped paper she used underneath some of her media. All the texture going on about the page is so much fun.

Take a look at the close ups.

Mix It Up Monday: Scrapbena Creations

Hi, Crafty Mavens and welcome to another inspirational week!! I hope you can find some wonderful inspiration from the mood board Hannah created as well as from the videos our wonderful design team members make this week!

Today Jenn is up with a CUTE little mini album she made. I absolutely love the idea behind this album:

I totally want to make an album like this now! 🙂

You can watch her process video below and you can find her personal YouTube channel here.

Jenn said, “I absolutely love this weeks inspiration. It is so pretty and girly. I decided to try my hand at a 4×4 album to document my journey of the Magic of Tidying Up – KonMari Method. Many of you may have read the book and are experiencing the magic as well. The KonMari Method is a way of discarding and organizing everything in your home. The idea is you only keep things that spark joy. My life has been transformed by this book and so because I am a memory keeper, of course, I wanted to document my journey. I was inspired by the colours in the mood board this week, so I pulled out all my pink, black and silver crafty goodies and away I went. I have never worked with this size of album before, but I loved it. I found it easy to journal and there was just enough space to add some embellishments. I love how many pictures you can get on the 4×4 pocket pages. I hope you will join me and watch the process of me documenting the first part of my journey. I still have a lot more tidying to do, but I am loving having this little album to look back on and remember my journey to being surrounded by joy!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great crafty week!!
