Here’s what she said about her card: “This weeks mood board really inspired me. I love the combination of the dark purple and silver(grey). I was so inspired I decided to create my firts ever shaker card and I love how it turned out.

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: SCIFI SCRAPPER

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to our US friends.. 🙂

I have a scraplift Saturday by Emma (SciFi Scrapper); she used this layout by Anke Kramer:

11012825_477847339066565_5002434574567635300_n

To many this weeks inspiration screamed ‘Autumn’, but to me it shouted ‘Harry Potter’!

The owls and pumpkins immediately grabbed me and as soon as I saw them, I knew I wanted to do a layout based around my recent trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. I picked this photo I took of ‘Harry’ and ‘Ron’ on the Hogwarts Express, one of the new sections I hadn’t seen on my previous visits. I loved the childish excitement and joy the scene set.

The layout I picked to scraplift is by Anke Kramer. I loved the use of white space on the layout, as well as the use of one dominant colour throughout. Like Anke, I used the same paper for my border and biggest layer, as well as the use of word stickers and hearts. I couldn’t resist embellishing a little more than the layout I was lifting though – Including that wonderful resin owl, which reminded me of Harry’s owl Hegwig!

First up we have Jen Stokes, aka ScrapsbyJen. You can find her YouTube channel here and below is her process video with some pictures:

jenstokes jenstokes2 jenstokes3

Jen said about her layout, “Used the inspiration piece this week to push me to move a bit away from totally traditional Halloween colours and a both the sketch and the inspiration piece that that centre design. This isn’t a typical design I use so was nice to challenge myself to do something different. I used a TON of old embellishments (brads, buttons, etc) I have had in my stash for a LONG LONG time to create the fun clusters of embellishments.”

Next up is Tanya. You can find her personal YouTube channel here and below is her video with some photos as well:

Tanya said, “I thought I’d try something a bit different this time and take an old SC Project Life kit – August 2014 (no judging! ;)) and use only what was in it and white cardstock for the background. I followed the sketch pretty much exactly just instead of more photos; I used the 3×4 cards. It’s simple and not really my usual style but I love how it came out in the end.

Thanks for stopping by today!! If you aren’t already a member of our facebook group, come on over and join us! We’d love to see the layouts you make!!

Free Flow Wednesday: Abcdeli and DeAnna Scraps

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I hope everyone week is going well. Here at my home we are getting prepared for Thanksgiving. I am in charge of making the desserts!! Yumm!! I hope that whether you are in the US or anywhere throughout this amazing world, you take the time to reflect on things you are thankful for in the coming holiday season. It really is part of this story we are creating with the paper crafting we do!!

Today is Free Flow Wednesday. I really love seeing all the different styles on the Crafty Maven. We all have something that makes us unique and I think it is so important to embrace this when we do our own work. What works for me isn’t what works for you and that really inspires me, knowing that other scrappers and paper crafters can find a way to connect to their products and stories in a didn’t way then me.

On the channel is Abcdeli, which has such a clean and classic style. It is so inspiring. Here is what she said about making her layout this week.

“I love this week’s inspiration piece, especially the fall colors and the leaves. the Clique Kits November kit had the perfect papers to match them! I had so much fun creating this layout and I also got the chance to use my new Tim Holtz die!”

Here are some pictures of what she created.

I love the look of those gold thickers against the deep rich colors on her layout!!

You can watch the process video here.

You can see more process videos on Elisabetta’s personal Youtube channel as well. She also has a blog where she share’s her amazing projects.

DeAnna Scraps is also sharing with us today as well!! Here is what she said about making her layout, ” I absolutely loved the colors in this week’s inspriation piece. I used the colors and the image that says “Give Thanks” as my basis for the layout. I used my stash for this layout, even some items that have been in my stash for many years. I loved the way it turned out and had fun creating the page!”

Here is a look at DeAnna’s layout.

IN YOUR POCKET TUESDAY: NURSE LISA

Howdy!

It’s Tuesday and that means we have another pocket life inspired project for you from the lovely Nurse Lisa:

“I was in love with this weeks Inspiration piece and the gorgeous, vibrant colors! The tree with all the orange leaves made me think of the day we went apple picking this fall. Everywhere we looked those colors were there! I wanted to use these photos to bring out those fall colors. The die cut “Color outside the lines” was perfect for this layout. I wanted to added some color to it by backing each word with a bright color – did I mention I love color!! I added some sparkle and dimension to the apples by using glossy accents and punched out leaves that were definitely appropriate for this spread.. What great memories I captured from our fun day!”

Here’s her video and to see more of Lisa please visit her YouTube channel:

I took the colors from there along with the copper foil accent. I tied my layout together using ephemera from Maggie Holmes’ Shine collection, wood veneer from Gossamer Blue, Color Cast Designs and My Mind’s Eye as well as doilies and enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by!! This is Kristie’s first video as a Design Team member so make sure to watch her video and give her a bunch of thumbs up and love!

SCRAPLIFT SATURDAY: FROGGIE251 & NICKMACKIN

Happy Saturday 🙂

We have two great videos for you today for our Scraplift Saturday; first up is froggie251 (Kelly):

For this layout I used a scrapbook page from Marcy Penner (marcypenner.com). I really like how she used a single layout for the layout and not a lot of layering behind the photo. I wanted to try something a little different than what I typically do so I thought that this would be a fun layout to scraplift. For the layout I mostly used items from the Crate Paper – Emma’s Shoppe collection. I thought the style of the collection went well with the older picture.

12240483_10208066910289300_5072263510649067060_o12239157_10208066910929316_4896811361355753359_o12239140_10208066910249299_4138751118923954124_o

Here’s her process and to see more of Kelly here’s her own channel:

Next up we have Nicole with her take:

Kelly and I scraplifted a layout by Mercy Penner. I love it because the design is not one I would normally do on my own as I tend to do lots of layering. The 1/2 page design is very unique and such a fun use of embellishments. I used Amy Tangerines Finders Keepers line. (And really ended up straying from the inspiration piece as I ended up using brighter colors).

Today on Art Party Friday is Nicole Jones911. I love Nicole and how she embraces and inspires me to try everything when I am creating a layout.

She puts everything in an easy and uncomplicated way too. Today she is playing with mixed media. I love all the texture on her background. I love how she does this without using lots of layers of papers and her embellishments lend to the texture feel.

Here is a look at Nicole’s layout.
