Scrap Lift Saturday:(March 19) SciFi Scrapper and Kelly Barron

Hello Crafty Maven! I hope everyone is having a great Saturday! Today we have scrap lift Saturday with Emma(SciFi Scrapper) and Kelly.

Lets take a look at Emma’s layout!

“For my layout today I decided to scraplift Hannah Lemieux. Hannah often creates her own backgrounds using mixed media and I love the look it creates. In contrast I’m not a mixed media person at all, and I really liked the idea of trying to create my own background for the first time. As well as the background, I incorporated the use of multiple photos, paper scraps and hearts from her layout.

I also took inspiration from out moodboard, which was full of flowers and had mentions of spring. I incorporated that in my layout not only with the use of flower embellishments, but also in my photo choices, which were taken late last spring and are full of wonderful flowers and colour.”-Emma

Here’s Kelly’s layout:

I chose to scraplift Missy Whidden for 3/19 Scraplift Saturday. I had purchased these cut files a while back from the Cut Shoppe, and the mood board this week was the perfect reason to finally use these files. Missy is one of the queens of mixed media, so I challenged myself to recreate her background. I love her layout and am happy with the final result. If you are a bit unsure on how to create using gelatos or other forms of mixed media, choose a project that you love and lift it!-Kelly

Art Party Friday: (March 18) Hannah Lemieux

Hello and happy Friday Crafty Mavens!! I am here to share a layout that Hannah made for us today. She received inspiration from the spring feel of the mood board.

hannah

hannah2 hannah3 hannah4

Hannah says, “I was really inspired by the Hello March photo with the daffodils in the background. I chose that flower patterned paper by Maggie Holmes because it reminded me of that picture. I know there was tons of green in the inspiration piece but I choose to just use the one element ( that floral patterned paper) because it that was the one picture that inspired me. I love that about inspiration pieces that by taking just one element you can help tell your own stories in the way you want too. This layout has lots of drips because it is mimicking the water from the water fountain. Which is the story I am telling in this layout. I love these close ups of my kids figuring out how to get the water in their mouths!!”

You can find her layout below and her personal YouTube channel here.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great weekend!

SKETCH IT OUT THURSDAY-(MARCH 17)FROGGIE251

Hello Crafty Maven! Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am. Today we have Sketch it up Thursday brought to you by Kelly aka Froggie251! Kelly’s beuatiful layout makes me so ready for spring.

Lets check out the inspiration that Kelly used:

10013944_10208941879282978_8573757774891339504_n

“I started this layout with the inspiration piece and sketch in mind and then I totally changed it up once I started. I just couldn’t make my original game plan work and that is ok. I do still have a loose interpretation of the sketch and inspiration pieces, but most of all I am must happier than if I triend to make something I wasn’t happy with work. I ended up using a VERY old die-cut pack from K & Company, Heidi Swapp metalic texture paste (OMG…to die for), and Heidi Swapp Color shine.”

In Your Pocket Tuesday: (March 15) Sweet Girl Designs

Hello crafters! I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’m here to share an adorable page spread that Kristie made for us today.

kristie

Don’t you just LOVE it?!! I love babies, so seeing these cute photos is just a lot of fun!

Kristie says, “Had a lot of fun using a very different color scheme for me. I was inspired by the green in the inspiration piece but I was also inspired to add purple into the mix when I came across an acetate piece in my stash (as seen on my title card). I absolutely love the combination of green, purple, woodgrain and the pop of pink in my photos. I also did something a little bit out the ordinary for me and used cards from a core kit and not a kit subscription kit.

You can find her video on the Crafty Maven Getaway channel below and her own personal YouTube channel here.

MIX IT UP MONDAY: (MARCH 14)CRAFTY MEGGY

Hello Crafty Friends! Megan is up today with a great project to include your little ones in. Enjoy her super cute and simple St Patrick’s Day cards.

From Megan: “I wanted to make something a little different for this mix it up Monday so I decided to hand cut my supplies as well as to use marshmallows. You can get creative and make these crafts yourself, or you could do these with your kids! They were both very simple and only took about 15 minutes to make! I decided to turn my art work into cards, but you could make yours into a cute holiday decoration.

Here is Megan’s process video.

Check out more from Megan on her YouTube channel here.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to come check out our facebook group! We’d love to see what you make with the inspiration pieces.

Plan It Sunday: (March 13) Katty Miranda

Aloha Crafty Mavens!! The weekend is sadly coming to an end! I love having free time to craft or relax and not have to think about school work, finishing tons of chores and appointments. Sundays are the perfect day to start thinking about the plans for the week ahead though.

“March is such a fun month to plan out. It’s the beginning of my favorite season, Spring. We have St. Patrick’s Day and this year we also have Easter. I loved this weeks inspiration piece. I used the green color only in a lighter shade. I also brought in some yellows and pink which are perfect for spring. I’ve filled in most of my month already. Mainly with crafty commitments. I will fill in other commitments and tasks throughout the month as necessary. If you have seen my Plan with me videos before you’ll know that I don’t use planner stickers. I am using just my stash to decorate my planner. I was even able to use up some spring themed dimensional stickers that have been in my stash for a very long time. This spread was a lot of fun to put together. Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head on over to our You Tube channel to watch today’s video as well as all the awesome videos posted everyday.”- Katty

One thing I love the most about Sunday’s is the fact that we share the new inspiration piece.

Here is a look at this week’s inspiration piece.

Inspiration piece March 3

I was very much inspired by the thought of spring time in march. Growing up in New York, march always means new grass and warmer weather.

I hope this piece inspires you to look forward to warmer weather and spring time and St. Patrick’s Day!!

Can’t wait to see what the design team makes this week.

Have a great week Crafty Mavens!!

Aloha, Hannah

“I decided to lift a layout by scrappy crush Glitter Girl (aka Shimelle Laine). I also loved the navy & natural colors of the mood board. They were the perfect colors to help highlight this gorgeous photo of a lake in northern Wisconsin. I struggled a bit with some of the embellishing, but was finally able to make it work. I had a blast recording my first video for the Crafty Maven Getaway and look forward to doing many more.” – Kelly

Art Party Friday: (March 11) Life with Evi

Hello lovely ladies! I have my first Crafty Maven video up today on our channel. I loved the mood board with the vivid navy and brown tones. I scrapped a photo of my red doxies, Zoe, as the light hit her just right. I played with large blue brush strokes and details of gold.
