The spotlight is on Alicia Jinhee this week on The Crafty Maven Getaway! Alicia has been scrapping for about two years and she has been sharing her talents on YouTube for about the same amount of time on her channel. She shares some of her favorite layouts on her spotlight video; they are absolutely stunning! Alicia has a penchant for using Crate Paper collections in her layouts and she also loves to use mixed media. Alicia was recently a guest designer for Clique kits! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us Alicia. Below you will find links to Alicia’s YouTube channel, the spotlight video and some of her projects from The Crafty Maven Getaway.
” This year I decided that I wanted to use a smaller personal planner for on the go in addition to my bigger A5 planner that stays at home. I fell in love with the white planner from Websters Pages, but it came without it’s “guts”. I loved all the blues and oranges in the inspiration piece, so I used that color scheme to make my dividers. I used my silhouette to cut them out so this project was super easy. You can check out my process video to see what other inserts I am going to be using this year.” Banning Lane
I hope you were inspired today!! I love these dividers and think I am going to try these out in a Midori sized planner I am working on for on the go. I hate lugging around my bigger planner out to appts but I sometimes need it. Come back tomorrow and join us for In Your Pocket Tuesday!!
We have two lovely ladies up today for Scraplift Saturday both of whom are lifting the extremely talented Nancy Damiano; first up is Tina lifting this beautiful layout:
“I couldn’t wait to use this paper from the Jen Hadfield Homemade collection with a picture of my daughter starting her WDW internship. The PL cards were a perfect addition to the story I wanted to tell.”

But wait, there’s more 🙂 Here is Sarah’s take on another of Nancy’s layouts:

Today Nicole is sharing a layout that uses lots of Amy Tan elements and I love the artsy feel of this layout!! The stencil work really adds to the texture on the page as well. This layout is really pretty.

Hello crafters!! Unfortunately, there was a mix up this week and we don’t have a sketch layout or process video for you. We’re sorry about that!! We hope you had a great Thursday and we’ll be back next Thursday with a new sketch for you!!
Thanks for understanding! We hope you have a great Friday and weekend!!
Aloha Crafty Mavens!! We have reached hump day and this week I trying to get my earrings back after a very nice holiday season. Back to school, back to normal chores and routines and back to work!! Thank Goodness for all the inspiration on The Crafty Maven Getaway Channel to help me not lose my mind from all that needs to be done around me!!
Today on The Crafty Maven Getaway Tanya Hubbard created an awesome layout. It mights me want to go to the beach or go sit in the sun.
“Firstly I do apologise for not using the inspiration piece but as I mention in my video – we’re right in the middle of a very hot summer and I just didn’t have any wintery type photos to scrap; so I went with a project I’m working on which is scrapping some photos of a trip my kids took to Mauritius with my family. Some mixed media goodness in the background and layering of embellishments around the photo finish it off. I really like how my background turned out; I feel the yellow paper on the left offsets the whole thing nicely,” Tanya explains.
Also posting to the Crafty Maven Getaway is Crafty Meggy. I really like Megan’s classic style layout. The design is really nice and simple, but it really helps the patterns on the paper stand out. Here is what Megan says about her layout.
“For this layout I was really inspired by the pure white in a couple of the mood board pieces. Some close friends of ours were sealed together as a family recently and this photo of them all in white just stood out to me as I searched for a photo to fit the inspiration piece. I kept the layout simple because I wanted the focus to be on them and the wonderful event that took place that day in their lives.”
Here are some photos of her layout.
You can watch her process video here.
You can also see more videos on her personal Youtube Channel. She also has a blog where she posts layouts and projects she is working on as well.
I hope you were inspired today on our channel!! Come back tomorrow for more inspiration on Sketch It Out Thursday.
Our contributor for Sunday January 3, 2016 is Marianne. Marianne has a lovely scrappy style and has been scrap booking for seventeen years. She got her start when she saw a scrap booking kit on QVC; she ordered the kit and has been crazy for this craft since then.
Marianne has had an obsession for scrappy supplies over the years (as we all have 🙂 . Her stash grew when her friend opened a scrap booking store and she was able to purchase supplies at wholesale prices…every scrap booker’s dream! Marianne also taught classes at this same store. Marianne continues to love to purchase new products as inspiration for new layouts.
Stay tuned through the video; Marianne has included an awesome layout share section on the video. Her layouts are gorgeous!!
Here is the link to Marianne’s own YouTube channel, as well as the link to her Spotlight video and a sample layout from a project Marianne did for The Crafty Maven Getaway YouTube channel in December.
Today we have another pocket style layout for you; this time from Kelly aka Froggie251:
“This is week 46 of my 2015 album. For this layout I used the colors, squirrels, and the patterns on the blankets from the inspiration piece. I decided to do some mixed media as I haven’t gotten my stuff out for quite some time. Other elements that I used were stickers and die-cuts from Teresa Collins, an older chipboard sticker sheet from Leeza Gibbons. and another sticker sheet that I have had in my stash for F-O-R-E-V-E-R. The cards were from all over the place and the stencils that I used were from Scraptastic and Crafters Workshop.”
You can watch her process here and see more of Kelly on her personal YouTube channel.
