🌸 Design Team Inspiration: Florals & Colorful Mixed Media Layers

Hello Scrapbookers!!! Crafty Meggy here with another gorgeous design team project to share with you.

Today’s inspiration is a bold and colorful mixed media layout created for one of our National Scrapbooking Day challenges—and it is absolutely full of energy, texture, and beautiful floral details!

For this layout, Cassie took on the floral challenge and created a vibrant background packed with layers of colorful mixed media. She used a large cut file that was released for NSD as the focal design element, building an eye-catching foundation for the rest of the page.

She centered her photo in the middle of the page and surrounded it with gorgeous floral clusters that really pop against the mixed media background. The florals help soften the bold design while also tying all the colors together beautifully.

The combination of the large cut file, layered mixed media, and dimensional florals creates such a striking layout that perfectly captures the fun and creativity of National Scrapbooking Day.

Why This Project Inspires

• Large cut file: Creates a bold focal design
• Colorful mixed media background: Adds movement and energy
• Centered photo placement: Keeps the layout balanced
• Floral clusters: Add softness and dimension
• Layered details: Bring everything together beautifully

I love how this layout embraces bold color and heavy mixed media while still keeping the photo and florals as the main focus. It’s such a fun and inspiring take on the NSD floral challenge!

🎨 Try This Technique

If you want to recreate this look, start with a large cut file as your base design.

Build layers of mixed media behind it using bright colors and different textures to create depth and movement. Then place your photo near the center of the layout and surround it with floral clusters to help it stand out against the busy background.
