Multi Photo Love: Oh Snap (Crystal Barrett)

Hey it is Crystal with Pineapple Papers and I am up on the Crafty Maven Getaway YouTube channel today. Not only am I playing with multiple photos, but I decided to do a double page spread.

When I first started scrapbooking I mainly did 2 page layouts. Now I do singles with the occasional companion page. It was fun to take it back. I wanted to incorporate each background paper on both pages so that it read as one big layout.

I off centered the beautiful Kaleidoscope paper from Vicki Boutin and placed 2 pictures with simple layering in the center of the sunburst. I find it easier to place the pictures together to act as one big picture sometimes. How about you? When you make a multi photo layout do you like the pictures together or separated?

I did some simple embellishing (for me) with the Kaleidoscope collection. I have been trying to do more thoughtful titles and not just use pre-done titles. I did start with the pre-made Oh Snap and used the title to span across both pages as well to continue the one big layout theme.

Boots – Travelers Notebook

Hi all,

Cynthia back today with a TN layout using my stash!! Its always good to get into your stash and rediscover some goodies.

If you haven’t already you can check out the process video here.

As always I used the monthly inspiration piece as my starting point. From this months piece I’ve drawn inspiration from the vivid greens, purples, the circle element and the animal reference.

I started with a cut file as it reminded me of the circle. I pulled out my stash of scrap papers, selected a mixture of colours and backed the file. I ended up settling on a bright green for the leaves and a mixture of purples for the flowers.

I used two different pattern papers for the background but both had the same “feel” to them and also stayed within the colours from the inspiration piece.

I added a circle element to the left hand page which helped balance the layout and I also added a chipboard ephemera to bring the purple across to the left side.

To finish the layout off I added my title with fresh green alpha stickers and ensure I repeated these on the other page as well.

Scraplift It (Crystal Barrett)

Hey!!! It is Crystal with Pineapple Papers and I am up with a scraplift today. I am scraplifting the fabulous Janet Fritz. She is Galaxy Girl on YouTube! I have had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful lady at a scrapbooking retreat. I have been wanting to scraplift her for a while.

I decided that this month is the month. I am not the only one. She was chosen by the Secret Not Secret Kit Club as the member to be scrapped this month. I have watched all of her videos and when she said that this was one of her go to designs I knew that it was the one that I wanted to do. cmg march 2

I did something fun while scraplifting her. I actually put the YouTube video on while I was lifting it and it was like I was scrapbooking with her. The nice thing is that you can always use pause. Most YouTubers speed up their videos or cut certain things out like gluing. When she started getting ahead I just pushed pause. If I missed something I just pushed back. It was fun I encourage you to try this sometime with maybe some of the videos over on The Crafty Maven Getaway YouTube Channel.

This month I am trying to use up my scraps and this was the perfect layout. I made the background with a piece of white cardstock and sprayed Heidi Swapp Color shine in Salmon and splattered Butter and Black.

Then I layered my scraps in the same off center design. I am scrapping pictures from Halloween when my son wore this weird pink skin suit. The use of pink is very fitting.

I am also trying to use my odds and ends ephemera. My daughter’s friend was a watermelon for Halloween so I found all of my watermelons and tried to get them on this page.
