Scraplift Saturday With Sara Scraps

Hello Hello Crafty Mavens!

I have a new layout and video to share today….and while the mood board didnt feature much on the layout, never fear. I used it to inspire my photo choice. The marbled geode in the mood board reminded me I hadnt scrapped these photos of my youngest with a pottery he created.

Sketch It Out Thursday – Good Friends (Kelly Oblak)

Today I was once again inspired by the colors of this month’s board. I loved the shades of green and hot pink which I used to scrapbook these photos of a friend and me on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Adding just a few touches of black embellishment helped tone down the bright green and pink.

I used a sketch from the 4x6photosketch blog, but I turned it 90 degrees and then flipped it horizontally. I originally started out with two photos with two different orientations, but when I cropped out all the background junk they endeded up the same.

I hope my video today inspires you to create something and I’d love to see your take on the sketch.

Stash It Monday – Sidney

Happy Monday.  Hope you are doing well.  Today I am digging way, way back into my paper stash.  All of the papers I used today have to be at least 2-3 years old and I think at least one of them is around 10 years old (by the way, where has the time gone??).

Here is what the overall layout looks like.

For the background I used a smooth cardstock and primed it with Dina Wakley gesso.  I used some Mr. Huey’s and Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  Most of the color was put down with the packaging technique.  I added a few black splatters to top it off.IMG_0218The chipboard came from a My Mind’s Eye 12×12 chipboard sheet.  I really like the colors and the paper I used for the layers went well.IMG_0219I added a bit of journaling and my title and the layout is done.  IMG_0220

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Make sure you check out the Facebook page and Instagram for more inspiration.

Have a great day.

In Your Pocket Tuesday – Week 36 (2017)

Hello everyone.  Is it Spring where you are yet?  I don’t think the weather knows what it is where I am.  Yesterday it was snowing and Thursday is it supposed to be in the 60s.  Go figure. A nyway, I am here to share with you a Fall layout with some Spring flair.

I thought most of the cards I used kind of had a Spring or Summer feel to them. Especially this title card.  Makes me so happy.

Here is what the overall 1st page looks like.

IMG_1618I used quite a bit from my stash for this layout.  This wood veneer “1” came from a Scraptastic kit.IMG_1620

I love this little metal bike embellishment.  I believe I got this and several others from my friend.  They are from Making Memories.IMG_1621

I had quite a few phots this week. Many were taken of my daughter and her friends on a camping trip.IMG_1623

The banner is one that came from a die-cut pack.  The texture is a plastic feel and it is for use with your fuse tool, but I just use it as a regular die-cut.IMG_1624

Not this is a blast from the past.  The primitive heart came from Michaels many, many moons ago and the star is from a very old Studio Calico kit.  IMG_1625

I used several of these Katlin Shaefer labels.  I also had a cute burlap bow from my stash.  IMG_1626IMG_1627

I grabbed some pink thread to make a few nests around the page.  IMG_1628IMG_1629IMG_1630IMG_1631

I topped everything off with a few enamel shapes.IMG_1632

Stash It Monday: Pink Lemonade (Kelly Oblak)

I absolutely loved the colors of the inspiration board for this month. They immediately made me think of a photo from last summer that was still unscrapped. The photo has the bright pink, green and black colors right in the photo.

Next up were the papers. Bright pink and aqua are my favorites colors, so it was fun picking out the papers to match. I added a bit of black and white to separate the bright top layers from the equally bright bottom layer.

I wanted to make sure that I gave a nod to the circles on the board so I used a circle die cut and a doily as two of my embellishments. As a final touch I added enamel butterflies to echo the butterflies on the board.

Now it’s your turn to dig into your stash and create a layout using the colors, circles and butterflies from the inspiration board.
